Stuhab
If there is one thing that's interesting about being in a creative career, its that there is never a shortage of ideas. Ideas are swimming through my head literally faster than I can keep up with them. I have neither the time, energy or skill to implement most of them, but they're great ideas ... they just need someone to pick up and run with them. I like the idea of the blog being a sketch board where I can lay out my ideas for the rest of the world to steal and profit from. It makes me feel all Izzy Steven'sish ... that is ... that I'm doing something good for the world. So for you young business-minded entrepreneurs in the LA area, this one's for you.
The Idea
A movie studio. "Aren't there already a ton of...," you might start asking yourself. Well yes. But this one's different. Its a movie studio and a rehab center rolled all into one. Before your mind even begins to grasp how genius this is, let's get the basics out of the way and settle on a name for this thing. I'd like to call it the "Stuhab." Slightly uncreative but easy to pronounce and remember. (Don't forget our target audience here.)
Some Further Direction
Why? There's been a slump in fantastic movie production over the last few years. Not just in the amount of epic movies produced, but even into the amount of could-be epic movies that just have horrible endings. I'm convinced this is happening because all the talent is constantly in rehab. Sometimes leaving in the middle of shooting (the movie, not cocaine).
For Who? Everyone! Its just rehab, not any specific type of rehab. Along with the regulars of drug, alcohol and candy cane addictions, there's bound to be some unique ones out there you could treat as well, e.g., "Strange Religion Addiction."
How? I guess one of the most prominent questions with any business venture is, "how will this be profitable?" All the actors will want your rehab over any others because they can continue their multi-million careers while rehabbing it up. All the producers will choose your studio because you've got a monopoly on all the talent. Its really a win, win, win situation... that last "win" being you.
You're welcome.
